Course information:

Firstly this one-day masterclass course will cover how to develop and maintain communication with people who have profound  and Multiple learning Disabilities.

Explicitly run in  the form of a “Master Class Lecture”.  This course  is  usually delivered to Students undertaking the Degree Courses in Learning Disability Nursing.

It will cover Communication Theory, Zoning, and intensive action linked to formal object and switch interface conditioning.

Examples will be given to apply practical methods for the development and maintaining of communication.  This will further enable practitioners to support and develop choice and control for the .  Evidently, we will use  real life case studies of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities. All of whom have additional sensory problems.

Who should attend?

This course is open to all Health and Social Care professionals, parents and family carers  of people with profound and multiple disabilities are especially welcome. The course has been extensively updated to support IMCA’s IMHA’s & advocates.

It is available in-house for 20 people or as an external workshop.
