Medication Workshops For ROVI’s

Medication Workshop for ROVI’s

Arising from the the recent function vision workshops for the RWPN . These medication workshops are designed to assist with the general assessment and safety of orientation and mobility and independence skills teaching. This will be done by understanding the impact of medication on older people.

This is because it  may affect the ability to stand, walk, pay attention and impact on  concentration and fatigue levels.

Often your Clients may  have other conditions such as diabetes, depression , or dementia.  The impact of medication can potentially have a huge role in the design of personalised support and client safety.

These two hour medication workshops will look at

  1. Why understanding the basics of meds are important?
  2. An overview of common medications in the elderly  & potential things to look for.
  3. Where to go for assistance if you are unsure of medication prescribed and its potential impact on your support planning and health and safety.

The workshops will look at  common medications for blood pressure, heart disease, dementia, depression and anxiety and touch on the potential effects they could have on the timing, duration and type of support that can be established safely with your client.

It is hoped that by undertaking the course you will have a better understanding of the impact of medication, more robust working assessments and tools to discover and understand more about other medications not covered in todays workshop that will continue to provide you with informed knowledge and supporting your professional practice.
