Supervision Services

Supervision,  is a recommended workplace activity.

Quoted in The Department of Health Good Practice in Learning Disability Nursing

Accordingly , it recommends that all Nurses with an  RNLD qualification should have regular time for supervisory activities. The RWPN  requires all Rehabilitation Specialists to undertake regular supervision and continuing professional practice Supervision and reflection is part of your requirement for staying on the professional register. Additionally  reflective practice , self development and training are important tools in keeping you fresh and safe.

If you’re a nurse, or a social care practitioner, working in  a sensory impairment or learning disability services, this support we know  might be difficult to get.

Especially, if  you are based in either the private or voluntary sector. So, we have developed a range of supervision services to get you the support you need for compliance.

Subsequently all of our  supervision sessions are structured.  So that you will  have a chance to identify your work goals, aspirations, and discuss your mental health and wellbeing in a safe space.

You can undertake reflective practice on work issues, and develop or identify new positive strategies and approaches to problem solving. Additionally we can provide support with evidence for your professional bodies.

We will support you to find research, training  resources and mentoring. We will help you to discover opportunities to make you a more rounded and professional practitioner.

Our supervision sessions

Each  supervision session is timed to be an hour or two hours duration.  This can be undertaken in person or face to face at an agreed location.*  Sessions can and   and will be Via zoom or Microsoft teams.

You will receive a copy of your supervision and details will remain confidential to you and the the supervisor. (Unless a disclosure is made that may result in criminal proceedings or a safeguarding situation). In which you case you will be informed that the content will be shared with an authorised third party.

You can decide the frequency of sessions with your employer.  However, we recommend a minimum of quarterly sessions or every three months. You  may wish to have them more frequently such as monthly or fortnightly during difficult cases.

At Mark Gray Associates will offer you regular external supervision paid via your workplace. Or , by you directly with regular advice on CPD, clinical support and access to helpful networks.
